  Our client is a U.S. owned business consultancy with offices across Europe.

A newly appointed consultant receives comprehensive induction training and then over a two to three year period attends a series of programmes which form part of the "learning ladder".

We design and facilitate a range of practical workshops, one of which is Consulting Skills.

The overall aim of the Consulting Skills programme is to;

"Develop participants 'core' consultancy skills to make them competent and confident at influencing at all levels with their clients and amongst their colleagues"

The programme we designed is based around a model that covers both the consulting process and the essential behavioural skills required to be effective in a consulting role.

 
     
    Input on the consulting process is divided into 4 main stages;

(1) Collect the data - Data Collector

(2) Analyse the data - Data Analyser

(3) Propose an action plan - Instigator of Action

(4) Implementation & Review - Implementer

 
         
 

In terms of the behavioural skills element of the programme, following time in their business and needs analysis, one of the main focus development areas was identified as Relationship Management.

Participant consultants are developed in a range of skills, including;

  • Rapport building
  • Positive influencing
  • Conflict resolution
